1. ShelteRise™ — A New Model for Homelessness
ShelteRise™ is a humanitarian housing initiative by the Aaron Roussos Organisation, designed to support individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity, stability, and real pathways forward.
This is not just about providing a roof — it’s about restoring people.
By combining safe accommodation with integrated support across health, wellbeing, and daily living, ShelteRise™ addresses the deeper factors connected to homelessness — not just the surface.
Starting in Adelaide, the first developments will support approximately 130 individuals per site, creating structured, community-focused environments where people can stabilise, rebuild, and move forward.
ShelteRise™ is designed as a scalable model — with the vision to expand across Australia and beyond.
1. Outreach Support SA
Outreach Support — South Australia
This outreach service is available for individuals experiencing homelessness across Adelaide and wider South Australia.
If you are living rough and need emotional, social, or connection support, you can reach out directly — or someone can do so on your behalf.
At its core, this is human-first support.
Because behind every situation is a person who deserves to be seen, heard, and treated with dignity.
With increasing pressure on homelessness services and limited crisis accommodation available, many are left without immediate support. Sometimes, the first step forward begins with something simple — a conversation, a connection, or being acknowledged.
Through the Aaron Roussos Organisation, this outreach service provides grounded, real-world support in the community, while also helping connect individuals into existing services where appropriate.
This work forms part of our broader mission — creating long-term pathways forward, not just short-term solutions.
Homelessness
There are very few organisations where the Executive Director has spent a full year living alongside people experiencing homelessness, across five states in Australia withe no lifeline, to truly understand the reality of it — not from a distance, but from within it.
At 26, Aaron experienced homelessness firsthand — not as an observer, but as someone inside it. Years later, that understanding has come full circle, forming the foundation of how we approach this work today.
We are not here to compete with other organisations, and we are not here to replicate what already exists. We operate in our own lane.
There are crisis services, crisis beds, food programs, showers, and support services — all necessary, all important — but they are stretched, and they are often responding to the immediate, not resolving the bigger picture. As the cost of living rises and capacity falls, many services are forced to extend what they already do just to keep up.
We step in where the gaps truly exist.
On the street, people are not just without housing — they are without connection. Social interaction fades. Health declines. Mental and emotional capacity deteriorates.
Over time, people become unseen.
Our outreach meets people in that space.
We engage, we connect, and we help bridge individuals back into services they may no longer have the capacity to access on their own. We restore human interaction where it has been lost.
But we do not stop there.
Our work also extends into long-term, solution-focused programs like ShelteRise — designed to move beyond temporary fixes and into structured, sustainable pathways forward. This is about rebuilding lives, not managing decline.
And this is where we are fundamentally different.
